Are You Ready
for the
Single Sheet Poster Revolution?
The outdoor industry is quickly converting to glue-free posting in order to realize significantly better quality and tremendous operational benefits.
The Big Three (Clear Channel Outdoor, CBS Outdoor, and Lamar) and several
other billboard companies will be completely converted from paper to PE/plastic
by the end of 2008.
The OAAA has announced that the Big Three will not accept paper posters
after March 1, 2009.
This is a significant step forward for our industry. Glue-free, single sheet,
recyclable PE posters are coming – and fast!
Are you planning to take part in this innovative industry advancement?

Some Terminology
Please review the information below for some terminology that will help you understand the various products you will hear discussed more and more within our industry:
Posters
- Paper 30-sheets (these are the traditional 10 or 12 sheet paper posters that are being replaced by the two single sheet poster types below).
- Eco-Posters are the trademarked name of single sheet posters created by Circle Graphics to fit the CG Cable System. These posters are finished with a pocket on the back that accommodates small clips that ultimately tension the poster.
- Lamar Poster Flex is the generic name used for lightweight plastic posters with pole-pocket finishing on the back that fit the Lamar poster frames (a system of hooks and j-bolts).
Note: Lamar Poster Flex is produced by a variety of vendors including Lamar Graphics, Circle Graphics, and others.
Flex Wraps for Bulletins
- Vinyl / PVC Flex is the traditional bulletin wrap material that has been in use for approximately 25 years. It is a product that is difficult to recycle and usually ends up in landfills or shipped overseas.
- Eco-Flexx is a PE-based, lightweight, recyclable material manufactured exclusively by Circle Graphics and represents a non-toxic alternative to PVC. Currently Circle produces over 60% of our bulletin wraps on Eco-Flexx, a substrate increasingly being selected by environmentally conscious national advertisers such as Anheuser-Busch, Walt Disney, Geico and many others.
Note: Both the products above are rotatable and long-term
(12 months for EF and 24 months for Vinyl).
Industry Recycling
Circle Graphics has established a recycling program with Avangardinnovative (www.avaicg.com) to handle recycling for your campaign provided you have contacted us in advance.
Avangardinnovative, a leading recycler with offices around the world, has a program established with their partner, Tie Tek, Inc. (www.tietek.com), to use Circle's printed Eco-Flexx material as a raw material for plastic railroad ties. This innovative use of used PE will save thousands of trees and help supply the 20 million+ railroad ties needed annually. Please note, this is a verified and confirmed recycling use for Circle Eco-Flexx billboards, and this program is available for your next campaign!
Don't let a negative-selling competitor tell you that Eco-Posters (or Eco-Flexx billboards) are not recyclable. Check the facts yourself! Feel free to contact Rod Rackley, rod@circlegraphicsonline.com, to be put in touch with executives at the recyclers mentioned here in order to verify these claims.
Please click the following link to view our Certificate
of Destruction and Recycling presented by Avangard Innovative to Circle Graphics after a careful study of our Eco-Poster and Eco-Flex materials and their suitability for recyclability.
If you are interested in this special recycling program for your next campaign, please talk to your Circle account manager or Rod Rackley for details.
